Legal Assitant
Our client is seeking a Legal Assistant with commercial real estate experience to support attorneys handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions and related legal matters. This role will provide both administrative and substantive legal support while assisting with court calendaring, e-filing, document preparation, and overall matter management. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive support to attorneys handling commercial real estate matters.
- Prepare, edit, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence.
- Maintain attorney calendars and schedule appointments, meetings, and deadlines.
- Track and manage court deadlines and litigation-related calendars.
- Perform state and federal court e-filings.
- Prepare court forms and filing packages.
- Coordinate service of process and filing confirmations.
- Assist with commercial lease agreements, amendments, purchase agreements, and closing documents.
- Maintain transaction and matter files.
- Organize due diligence materials and transaction documentation.
- Prepare closing binders and document indexes.
- Draft routine correspondence and legal forms.
- Coordinate document execution and signature collection.
- Communicate with clients, title companies, escrow officers, lenders, brokers, and third-party vendors.
- Monitor deadlines associated with transactions and litigation matters.
- Assist with billing, expense reporting, and administrative tasks.
- Manage document management systems and file organization.
- Conduct legal and public record research as requested.
- Support attorneys with document productions and information requests.
- Assist with hearing preparation and filing logistics when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 3+ years of legal assistant experience.
- Commercial real estate experience required.
- Experience supporting attorneys in commercial real estate transactions.
- Prior court calendaring and e-filing experience required.
- Familiarity with California state court procedures.
- Experience preparing and processing legal documents.
- Knowledge of commercial leasing and real estate transactions.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent proofreading and document formatting skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with document management and case management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
Compensation
