Staff Accountant

Our team is currently working with multiple clients in the Rochester, NY area who are seeking experienced and motivated Staff Accountants. This is a great opportunity for accounting professionals looking to grow their experience in dynamic environments across a variety of industries.

Job Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Support preparation of financial statements and internal reporting packages
• Analyze financial data and help identify and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other general accounting functions as needed
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Support audits and assist with special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience with general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
