Job Summary
The Career Advisor supports undergraduate career development through advising, programming, campus partnerships, and peer advisor development. The role helps students explore majors and careers, build career readiness, connect academic experiences to career pathways, and prepare for post-graduation success.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide career advising and programming, especially for students exploring or reconsidering majors and career paths.
  • Address career assessment, exploration, internship and job search strategies, and decision-making.
  • Support students with internships, career transitions, and graduate school preparation.
  • Develop workshops, events, and resources that help students identify career pathways.
  • Deliver outreach presentations and programs for students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Partner with Employer Relations and Community Partnerships to strengthen employer connections.
  • Track and evaluate student career development efforts and outcomes.
  • Collect engagement data and prepare reports on programs and outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Collaborating with the campus and community, Student Success will work through a holistic lens to support a community of learners in achieving success.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Well-organized; excellent follow-through.
  • Experience in counseling, advising, or teaching students/adults.
  • Utilize career management technologies (e.g., Handshake, Big Interview, Focus2, CRM systems, and data dashboards) to support student engagement and service delivery.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interface with employers, students, alumni, faculty, and administrators.
  • Ability to embrace and drive change; manage multiple priorities independently and in a team.
  • Proficient in web-based software; Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Effective oral/written communication, program planning, presentation, and computer skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport with students, faculty, employers, and staff.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with academic units.
  • Service-oriented approach.
  • Careful attention to detail.
