Position Summary:
The Light Assembly Technician is responsible for light assembly applications, including, but limited to hose assembly, tube assembly, kitting and small part assembly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Completes all assemblies sourced through light assembly or manufacturing services.
- Supports our network of branches with large hose assembly orders.
- Assists manufacturing services in estimating labor for light assembly work and completes work to the established labor commitments.
- Identifies and verifies all materials used in light assemblies for correctness, quality, and condition prior to beginning assembly.
- Utilizes best or established practices to complete assemblies.
- Performs verification testing or quality documentation as required for each assembly.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Aptitude to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines.
- General computer proficiency sufficient to perform tracking, shipping and inventory functions.
- Ability to read basic blueprints and other shop/engineering documents.
- Accuracy in recordkeeping, sorting, checking, counting and verifying.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2-year degree in a specialized area a plus.
Supervisory responsibilities:
- None specifically associated with this position.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
