Position Summary

This position is responsible for recording transactions in the Fathom general ledger, maintaining and reconciling assigned account balances, ensuring support for all transactions, assisting with the month-end close process, understanding account variances to prior periods, and preparing analysis and reports for Fathom Finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities or Essential Functions

  • Prepare journal entries to record monthly transactions in the general ledger, ensuring support for each entry
  • Assist with monthly close, including completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner, reconciling assigned account balances, reviewing and explaining account variances vs. prior periods, and ensuring accuracy and completion of accounting records
  • Account for cash, including cash application to AR subledger and coding all cash receipts and payments to the ledger
  • Account for fixed assets, leases, and debt, including updating detailed subledgers
  • Account for prepaid asset and accrued liabilities, including payroll, benefits, and commissions
  • Account for intercompany transactions between Fathom entities and reconciling each month to ensure proper elimination in the consolidation
  • Assist internal customers in researching accounting matters and ensuring the general ledger is accurately presented
