Position Description

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for providing on-site field administration, supervision, and technical management for all construction operations, including direct supervision of foreman, subcontractors, and other construction related personnel.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties and other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


On Site Project Duties:

  1. Review design documents, shop drawings and submittals for consistency with contract scope of work.
  2. Set-up job site logistics.
  3. Identify, define and procure required craft and subcontractor services.
  4. Monitor project costs and identify areas for improvement.
  5. Develop, maintain, and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.
  6. Document daily construction activities.
  7. Assist with preparation of CPM schedule.
  8. Implement project engineering procedures, and other work controlling documents.
  9. Prepare proposals, change orders, RFI’s and letters of intent as needed.
  10. Change order documentation and associated cost reporting and maintenance.
  11. Time card review and invoice processing.
  12. Maintains a good working relationship with field personnel and subcontractors.
  13. Dedicated to achieving a “Zero Accident Culture” by adhering to site safety protocols and OSHA safety standards.
  14. Compile contract close out documents.
  15. Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Estimating Duties:

  1. Analyze and compile estimate data that impact labor costs, materials, equipment requirements, location, and other factors to ensure a timely estimate.
  2. Review drawings, specifications and proposed project site conditions, record findings and solicit input from Senior Management and field operations in final project estimate.
  3. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with owners.
  4. Utilize existing cost history as a reference to complete estimate.
  5. Complete take-offs to confirm quantities and ensure accuracy of drawings.
  6. Assists with development of complete estimates for review by Senior Management and submittal to Owner.


This job regularly requires presence at jobsite locations. Willingness to drive long distances is required.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  2. One (1) year of experience and past internships in the construction industry is preferred.
  3. Strong computer skills and familiarization with software programs to include project design, job costing, scheduling, and estimating.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  1. A valid California Driver’s License
  2. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.


Travel Requirements

  1. 25% overnight travel
  2. Must be able and willing to drive long distances
