POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Information Technology is a key member of the BrassCraft Executive Leadership Team responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy that enables business growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation across the enterprise. Reporting directly to the President of BrassCraft, this role provides strategic leadership for enterprise applications, infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and technology operations supporting a multi-site manufacturing environment. The Director leads the development and execution of a modern technology roadmap that aligns business objectives with scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions. This position oversees enterprise applications, ERP platforms, business intelligence, software development, infrastructure, network operations, and project delivery while ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical systems.  As a strategic business partner, this position collaborates closely with executive leadership and functional stakeholders to optimize end-to-end business processes, enhance operational efficiency, drive digital innovation, and maximize the value of technology investments. The role requires a blend of executive leadership, business acumen, and technical expertise to successfully deliver enterprise-wide initiatives that support manufacturing, supply chain, customer service, and corporate functions.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Digital Transformation

  • Develop and execute a multi-year IT strategy and technology roadmap aligned with corporate goals, manufacturing objectives, and business growth initiatives.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, identifying opportunities to leverage technology as a competitive advantage.

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives that improve operational performance, automation, data accessibility, customer experience, and business agility.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, operational excellence, and business process optimization across the organization.

Enterprise Applications & ERP Leadership

  • Provide strategic oversight of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne environment and associated enterprise applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements and long-term organizational objectives.

  • Lead ERP modernization efforts, upgrade strategies, application lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership optimization.

  • Oversee application architecture, software development, middleware integration, web platforms, and business intelligence solutions to support enterprise-wide operations.

  • Prioritize and govern application enhancement portfolios, ensuring projects deliver measurable business value.

Infrastructure, Security & Technology Operations

  • Direct the planning, implementation, and support of enterprise infrastructure, including networks, voice systems, cloud technologies, end-user computing, and data center operations.

  • Establish and maintain a secure, resilient, and scalable technology environment through effective cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management practices.

  • Develop and enforce enterprise IT policies, standards, governance frameworks, and security controls that safeguard company data and technology assets.

  • Ensure 24/7 operational support and availability of critical business applications and infrastructure services.

Business Partnership & Operational Excellence

  • Partner with business leaders to identify, evaluate, and implement technology solutions that optimize manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, finance, and customer-facing processes.

  • Serve as the primary technology liaison for business functions, translating operational needs into scalable technology solutions.

  • Lead cross-functional programs and complex technology projects from strategy through deployment, ensuring successful execution within scope, budget, and timeline expectations.

  • Drive the adoption of data analytics and business intelligence capabilities to enhance decision-making and business performance.

Financial & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage IT operating and capital budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and return on investment.

  • Lead vendor strategy, contract negotiations, licensing management, and third-party partnerships to maximize service quality and cost effectiveness.

  • Monitor technology expenditures and continuously identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost optimization.

Talent Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams across application development, business analysis, infrastructure, and project management disciplines.

  • Establish clear performance expectations, development plans, succession strategies, and accountability measures for IT personnel.

  • Drive talent acquisition, retention, and workforce planning initiatives to maintain a highly skilled and future-ready technology organization.

  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture that emphasizes innovation, engagement, and professional growth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including responsibility for enterprise applications and infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale ERP environments, digital transformation initiatives, and cross-functional technology programs.

  • Deep experience with ERP, ERP strategies, and implementations 

  • Strong understanding of application development, infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity, business intelligence, and IT governance.

  • Proven experience managing budgets, technology vendors, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, or supply chain-driven organization.

  • Understanding of manufacturing execution systems (MES), operational technology (OT), shop floor connectivity, and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

  • Experience leading digital manufacturing, automation, and data-driven operational improvement programs.

  • Familiar with .Net, eBusiness and SalesForce.com experience is desirable.

  • Expertise with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and enterprise business systems.
