Medical Assistant
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate appointment calendars for nursing staff and physicians, ensuring visits are arranged efficiently and updated accurately.
• Process medication refill requests by gathering needed information and routing items to the appropriate clinical team members.
• Secure insurance approvals and authorizations for services and follow up on outstanding requests as needed.
• Answer incoming calls, assess the nature of each inquiry, and provide timely follow-up or direct concerns to the proper staff.
• Maintain accurate patient information within the electronic medical record system and support day-to-day administrative documentation.
• Verify insurance coverage details before visits or services to help reduce scheduling and billing issues.
• Assist with general front-end medical office support, including patient communication and coordination of care-related tasks.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a comparable medical office support role.• Working knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to use it accurately in daily tasks.
• Experience with insurance verification and obtaining prior authorizations.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and confidence navigating EMR systems efficiently.
• Strong scheduling and appointment coordination skills in a clinical setting.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented and patient-focused approach.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard administrative software used in healthcare environments.
Compensation
