Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage fixed asset accounting activities, including tracking additions, disposals, depreciation, and maintaining accurate supporting records.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate variances to ensure the general ledger remains accurate and complete.
• Support billing processes by reviewing transactions, resolving discrepancies, and helping maintain timely invoicing practices.
• Contribute to financial analysis by compiling data, identifying trends, and assisting leadership with actionable reporting.
• Produce cost center reports that help department leaders monitor spending and evaluate operating performance.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reviewing balances, and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Collaborate with the Senior Director of Finance and other accounting team members to improve workflows and support broader team objectives.
• Provide accounting support for corporate and sales tax-related processes, including maintaining records needed for filings and compliance.
• Participate in occasional travel to a company plant location as needed to support accounting activities and coordination.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Working knowledge of journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, monthly close, general ledger activity and financial reporting support.
• Familiarity with fixed assets, billing functions, and cost center or departmental reporting.
• Understanding of corporate tax and sales tax concepts, including documentation required for compliance activities.
• Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and follow through on resolution independently.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with finance leadership and cross-functional partners.
Compensation
