Director of FP&A
Sue Sumrell is recruiting for a privately held, industry-leading organization that is creating a new Director of FP& A role to elevate financial reporting, forecasting, and business performance analysis across the enterprise.
This is a rare opportunity to partner directly with the CFO and build a more sophisticated FP& A function from the ground up. You'll drive budgeting, forecasting, KPI development, management reporting, and strategic decision support while helping shape the future direction of a growing organization.
Must be located in the Portland metro area - this is an onsite role. No out of area candidates will be accepted unless firm reason/date for relocation.
What You'll Own
✅ Corporate budgeting and forecasting
✅ Three-statement financial modeling (P& L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
✅ Cash flow forecasting and strategic financial analysis
✅ Executive-level reporting and presentations
✅ KPI and dashboard development
✅ Business intelligence and data-driven decision support
✅ Process improvements and reporting automation initiatives
✅ Cross-functional partnership with operations and senior leadership

Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in FP& A, financial reporting, or corporate finance
- Strong understanding of GAAP financial statements
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling expertise - including 3 statement modeling
- Experience building budgets, forecasts, metrics, and management reporting
- Exposure to Power BI or other BI tools
- A confident communicator who enjoys influencing business decisions
- Public accounting foundation plus corporate finance experience is highly attractive
- Distribution, logistics, wholesale, or related industry experience is a plus
