Accounts Receivable Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Manage invoicing activity for tuition, institutional fees, and external funding sources such as scholarships, grants, and partner organizations.
• Record and apply incoming payments, including checks and wire transfers, to the correct customer or student accounts.
• Reconcile daily cash receipts and deposits to ensure financial records remain complete, balanced, and audit-ready.
• Enter remittance and payment details accurately while allocating funds across the appropriate accounts and revenue categories.
• Prepare routine reports related to incoming payment activity and complete postings within established timelines.
• Assist with collection follow-up by issuing notices and supporting outreach on overdue balances.
• Maintain a large portfolio of billing accounts and help resolve discrepancies through regular account review and reconciliation.
• Support ongoing accounts receivable operations by identifying posting issues and helping improve accuracy in day-to-day processing.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, including billing, payment posting, and account reconciliation.• Hands-on knowledge of cash application procedures and daily cash activity management.
• Familiarity with collections practices, including written follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Ability to work accurately with high-volume financial transactions and detailed data entry.
• Experience using enterprise systems such as Banner, Workday ERP, or similar accounting platforms.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple revenue streams and deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external payers.
