Accounting Specialist (AP/AR Support)

A growing organization in the Davenport area is seeking an Accounting Specialist (AP/AR Support) to provide additional support during a major system conversion and process improvement initiative. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a mix of accounts payable, accounts receivable, data management, and problem-solving work.

What You'll Do

• Assist with day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
• Review customer orders and determine applicable sales tax status
• Verify and maintain tax exemption certificates and supporting documentation
• Communicate with internal sales teams and customers to obtain missing tax documentation
• Manage and organize tax exemption records to support efficient invoicing processes
• Export and analyze data using Excel to track orders, documentation, and workflow status
• Support accounting process improvements during an ERP/system conversion
• Collaborate closely with accounting, payroll, and operations team members
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting functions as business needs evolve

Qualifications:

What We're Looking For

• 1+ years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or related experience
• Comfortable working in Excel, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and basic reporting
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow up proactively
• Strong communication skills when working with both internal teams and customers
• Experience with sales tax, tax-exempt documentation, or customer invoicing is a plus
