Attorney/Lawyer
We are looking for an experienced litigation attorney to join a well-established defense firm. This role offers the chance to manage sophisticated medical malpractice and insurance defense matters in state and federal courts while building hands-on courtroom and case strategy experience. Responsibilities:
• Manage medical malpractice and insurance defense cases through all phases of litigation, from initial evaluation to resolution
• Prepare pleadings, dispositive motions, legal memoranda, and other written submissions with a high degree of accuracy and strategy
• Conduct depositions, participate in court conferences, and handle appearances in both state and federal venues
• Oversee discovery efforts by drafting demands and responses, reviewing records, and coordinating with relevant parties
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop defense strategies for complex injury and wrongful death matters
• Analyze medical, factual, and legal issues to assess exposure and support case planning
• Communicate effectively with healthcare clients, witnesses, experts, and internal team members throughout the life of each matter
• Contribute to a team-oriented practice by supporting shared goals, mentorship, and ongoing career growth
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice, insurance defense, general liability, or products liability• Active admission to practice law in New York
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, and other litigation documents effectively
• Experience handling discovery, including document review, written responses, and related case preparation
• Strong analytical thinking and sound legal judgment in complex matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative legal team
Compensation
