AI Business Analyst/Consultant

We are looking for an AI Business Analyst/Consultant to join an associations organization in Piscataway, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who can connect business needs with technical execution across AI-driven products, data platforms, and external partnerships. In this role, you will work closely with product, engineering, data science, marketing, and vendor teams to support product delivery, improve issue resolution, and help bring customer-focused solutions to market.

Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary business resource for assigned AI and data products, building a strong understanding of features, workflows, and business value.
• Elicit and organize business and functional needs into clear documentation such as requirement summaries, user stories, process flows, and meeting records.
• Collaborate with product leadership to refine priorities, maintain an organized Jira backlog, and ensure work items reflect both business objectives and technical considerations.
• Map data movement, decision logic, and integration dependencies to support machine learning capabilities and third-party data solutions.
• Review reported product issues, replicate defects, analyze data-related irregularities, and direct well-defined tickets to the appropriate technical teams.
• Develop business-focused test scenarios and assist with user acceptance and functional testing to support reliable releases.
• Turn complex concepts related to machine learning, generative AI, and simulation-based solutions into language that is meaningful for business stakeholders and customers.
• Monitor market activity, competing AI offerings, and industry developments to help shape product positioning and identify opportunities for differentiation.
• Provide structured updates to internal stakeholders and coordinate closely with the Product Manager to track timelines, dependencies, and external vendor commitments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, information technology, business management, or another relevant technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in business analysis, product management, or data analysis within a software, technical, or product-focused environment.
• Working knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, with the ability to support technical product discussions.
• Experience creating business and functional documentation, including requirements, user stories, workflows, and test scenarios.
• Hands-on ability to perform basic data queries and use data analysis to investigate errors, diagnose issues, and support bug resolution.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery practices and experience working within iterative product development cycles.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.

Compensation

$39.59-$45.84 Hourly
