Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Sacramento, California. This role is ideal for someone who can manage close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and strengthen day-to-day ledger integrity. The position will play a key part in reconciliation work, journal processing, and accounting support tied to NetSuite-related activities in a service-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly close tasks by preparing schedules, reviewing balances, and helping ensure timely completion of reporting activities.
• Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation while maintaining accuracy across the general ledger.
• Perform detailed reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies through research and follow-up.
• Complete bank reconciliations on a recurring basis and investigate variances to keep cash records current.
• Maintain the integrity of the chart of accounts and support accounting alignment during NetSuite implementation efforts.
• Assist with general ledger analysis by identifying unusual activity, correcting errors, and improving account accuracy.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial data, clarify transactions, and support routine accounting operations.
• Contribute to process documentation and provide accounting support related to system and reporting changes when needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of accounting experience with hands-on responsibility for close and reconciliation activities.
• Demonstrated ability to work within the general ledger and prepare accurate journal entries.
• Experience completing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations in a detail-focused setting.
• Familiarity with NetSuite, including exposure to NetSuite-related accounting workflows or support.
• Understanding of month-end close procedures and financial record maintenance.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to investigate and resolve accounting variances.
• Proficiency using accounting systems and spreadsheets to manage financial data effectively.

Compensation

$51.46-$59.59 Hourly
