We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join a CPA firm serving clients in Mountain Home, Arkansas. In this role, you will prepare a range of tax filings, contribute to tax research, and support client relationships through accurate, timely work. This position offers the chance to strengthen technical tax knowledge, expand advisory capabilities, and grow within a collaborative public accounting environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, and pass-through entities with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Communicate with clients and internal team members to gather financial information, clarify open items, and keep engagements moving efficiently.
• Conduct tax research on technical issues and record clear, supportable conclusions for review and implementation.
• Analyze financial data and tax documentation to identify issues, resolve discrepancies, and support sound filing positions.
• Build practical knowledge of client operations to deliver responsive service and recognize areas where additional guidance may be valuable.
• Manage assigned work with attention to deadlines, organization, and quality by reviewing deliverables before submission.
• Maintain compliance with applicable tax rules, industry standards, and ethical requirements governing public accounting practice.
• Continue developing technical and advisory skills through hands-on experience, training, and increasing responsibility within the firm.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of tax experience, including preparation of returns in a public accounting environment.• Hands-on experience preparing corporate income tax, individual tax returns, and partnership tax returns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to document findings clearly.
• Proficiency with tax and accounting software, along with the ability to produce accurate finished work efficiently.
• Effective time management skills with the ability to organize priorities, adapt to changing demands, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
• Commitment to continued learning and career growth in tax and client service.
Compensation
