Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join a team in Denver, Colorado in a Long-term Contract role. This position focuses on overseeing daily cash activity, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring account balances are properly supported across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will bring strong reconciliation skills, sound accounting knowledge, and a detail-oriented approach to resolving variances efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee a large volume of cash transactions for numerous business locations while maintaining accurate and timely records

• Complete monthly reconciliations for 10 to 11 bank accounts and investigate any differences identified during the close process

• Support day-to-day cash management activities by tracking movement of funds and confirming alignment with financial records

• Review cash activity and account balances to ensure reporting accuracy and proper documentation

• Research outstanding items, identify the cause of discrepancies, and work toward prompt resolution of reconciling differences

• Prepare and post journal entries related to cash activity and other assigned accounting transactions

• Partner with accounting team members to maintain accurate general ledger records tied to cash and banking activity

Qualifications:

• Experience in accounting roles involving bank reconciliations and cash management
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes, journal entries, and account analysis
• Familiarity with both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Ability to manage high transaction volumes with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in identifying, researching, and resolving account discrepancies
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet recurring monthly deadlines
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders and supporting issue resolution

Compensation

$25.34-$29.34 Hourly
