Collections Specialist

We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join a portfolio management team in Richardson, Texas in a Contract to Permanent capacity. This role focuses on connecting with customers regarding overdue accounts, resolving payment issues through effective negotiation, and maintaining accurate account records. The ideal candidate brings a customer-focused approach, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage collection activities while supporting a positive client experience.

Responsibilities:
• Contact customers with delinquent accounts by phone, email, and written communication to discuss balances and secure payment commitments.
• Negotiate practical repayment arrangements and follow established procedures to support account resolution while protecting business interests.
• Investigate hard-to-reach accounts through skip tracing and other research methods to obtain updated customer information.
• Address collection-related service questions and provide timely support to customers seeking clarification on account status or payment options.
• Prepare and send clear correspondence related to overdue balances, repayment terms, and account updates.
• Maintain detailed documentation of collection activity, customer interactions, and current account standing within tracking systems.
• Assist with workout solutions and other recovery efforts for accounts requiring structured resolution plans.
• Compile and organize delinquency data to support recurring reporting and portfolio review activities.

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience in collections, account management, or a closely related function.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English with the ability to communicate clearly in both languages.
• Working knowledge of collection practices across consumer and/or commercial accounts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and comfort using business systems such as Salesforce.
• Strong negotiation, organization, and multitasking skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Detail-oriented written and verbal communication skills with a consistent customer-service mindset.
• Positive team-oriented attitude with a dependable work ethic and attention to detail.

Compensation

$24.70-$28.60 Hourly
