Coordinator Medical Staff Services

Santa Rosa, CA 95405, US Remote Temporary
Compensation: $27.71 to $32.09 Hourly

We are looking for a Coordinator to support medical staff operations for an acute care hospital in Santa Rosa, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone with a strong background in provider credentialing, privileging, and administrative coordination within a healthcare environment. The role focuses on maintaining compliant medical staff records, supporting committee processes, and partnering with providers and hospital leadership to keep key workflows organized and up to date. This is a 3-6 month contract with the potential to extend.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day medical staff support activities that help hospital departments and providers stay aligned with operational requirements.

• Administer credentialing, reappointment, and privileging workflows for physicians and allied health professionals from intake through final processing.

• Maintain accurate provider data in MD Staff, ensuring records are current, complete, and properly organized.

• Examine submitted applications for missing items or inconsistencies and follow up promptly to gather required documentation.

• Assemble credentialing files for review bodies and coordinate meeting materials, agendas, and documentation for medical staff committees.

• Monitor expiration dates for licenses, certifications, and other required documents to support ongoing compliance.

• Help ensure medical staff processes follow hospital bylaws as well as applicable accreditation and regulatory standards.

• Act as a central point of coordination between providers, department leadership, and internal teams on medical staff-related matters.

• Support audits, reporting needs, database upkeep, scheduling, and other administrative tasks tied to medical staff services.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in medical staff services within an acute hospital setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in provider credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging processes.
• Practical hands-on experience using MD Staff software.
• Working knowledge of hospital administration practices, compliance standards, and medical staff documentation requirements.
• Strong administrative coordination skills, including scheduling, calendar management, and record maintenance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, allied health professionals, and cross-functional hospital teams.
• Familiarity with basic medical terminology and healthcare-related administrative workflows.

Compensation

$27.71-$32.09 Hourly
