Financial Accountant

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to support core accounting operations for a healthcare organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This contract opportunity is suited to a detail-oriented individual who can manage financial records accurately, maintain compliance with tax obligations, and contribute to dependable month-end and ongoing reporting activities. The role will focus on general ledger accuracy, preparation of journal entries, and support for corporate and sales tax processes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure accounting activity is captured accurately and on schedule.

• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances to maintain reliable financial data.

• Assist with month-end and period-end close tasks to help deliver timely financial results.

• Review accounting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with internal controls.

• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information and clarify accounting issues.

• Maintain organized records and schedules to support audits, compliance reviews, and ongoing reporting needs.

Qualifications:

• Experience in staff or financial accounting, preferably within a regulated, property, or senior living environment.

• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

• Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and resolve accounting exceptions effectively.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial reporting and analysis.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines
