Insurance Defense Paralegal

A reputable Orange County law firm is seeking an Insurance Defense Paralegal for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented paralegal with experience supporting attorneys in insurance defense matters, including personal injury, premises liability, product liability, construction defect, and general liability cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys throughout all phases of insurance defense litigation
• Draft, review, and manage pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and correspondence
• Coordinate and manage document production, case files, and litigation databases
• Assist with deposition preparation, including organizing exhibits and summarizing testimony
• Review and summarize medical records, billing records, and expert reports
• Coordinate independent medical examinations (IMEs), expert witnesses, and court reporting services
• Prepare trial binders, witness files, exhibits, and other trial support materials
• Track court deadlines and ensure compliance with calendaring and filing requirements
• Manage e-filing in California state and federal courts
• Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, experts, opposing counsel, and court personnel

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience
• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred
• Experience handling discovery, medical records, subpoenas, and trial preparation
• Strong knowledge of California state court procedures and e-filing requirements
• Familiarity with case management and document management systems
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work on-site in the Irvine office five days per week
