Full‑time • Salary: $47,000 • Exempt  • Bi‑weekly pay; Full benefits package
Location • Dayton Job Corps Center

Schedule • Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

About the Role

We are seeking a mission‑driven professional committed to empowering young adults through meaningful work‑based learning experiences, community partnerships, and employer engagement. This role is essential in preparing students for full‑time employment, advanced training, or higher education by coordinating on‑ and off‑center learning opportunities that build strong employability skills.

This position is well‑suited for individuals with experience in:

• Workforce development or employer engagement
• Community outreach, vocational guidance, or youth‑focused programming
• Career coaching, counseling, or social services
• Business partnerships, economic development, or labor relations
• Program coordination, training, or case management

You will collaborate closely with the Career Services Manager, Career Technical Training staff, employer partners, safety/security teams, and community organizations to ensure students receive high‑quality training and support.

This is an on‑site, student‑facing role requiring initiative, strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to build lasting relationships with employers and community stakeholders.

Your work directly influences student career readiness, program outcomes, employer satisfaction, and overall center success.

What You’ll Do

Work‑Based Learning Coordination & Employer Engagement

• Coordinate on‑ and off‑center Work‑Based Learning (WBL) and Home‑Based Learning (HBL) experiences.
• Identify, secure, and maintain partnerships with employers, labor organizations, training providers, and community agencies.
• Use labor market information (LMI) to analyze current trends and align student training with employer needs.
• Maintain active membership and engagement with local and state workforce boards, workforce investment agencies, and employer organizations.
• Represent the center at public, social, business, and community events.

Student Career Readiness & Support

• Provide instruction on employability skills, work readiness, and professional expectations.
• Coordinate guest speakers to present relevant employment topics.
• Maintain accurate case notes for each student's WBL activity in the Center Information System (CIS).
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of all student WBL documentation.
• Conduct CTR workshops using employer feedback to strengthen student preparation.
• Model and mentor positive normative culture and Career Success Standards (CSS).

Program Administration & Compliance

• Coordinate with departments to monitor and support student employment readiness and placement.
• Attend Outcome Measurement Standards (OMS) meetings and report student separation progress.
• Lead the Center Workforce Council and Community Relations Council (CRC).
• Maintain a detailed employer/community contact log.
• Keep the Center Director informed of significant employment or community trends.
• Collaborate with Safety/Security Manager to perform safety inspections of WBL/HBL sites.
• Act as a responsible custodian of assigned center property.
• Report violations of ethical behavior and identify opportunities for continuous operational improvement.
• Monitor environmental health and safety concerns related to WBL/HBL activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in workforce development, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Two years of experience in counseling, social work, rehabilitation, vocational guidance, or youth services.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct community outreach and maintain employer partnerships.
• Computer literacy, including spreadsheet and word processing proficiency.
• Ability to promote positive behaviors, mentor students, and intervene professionally.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug test and background check.

Eligibility Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Adequate vehicle insurance.
• I‑9 documentation verifying authorization to work in the United States.
