JOB TITLE: SHIPPING

Non-Exempt Position

REPORTS TO: Shipping Supervisor

DEPARTMENT: Shipping

BASIC FUNCTION:

Working with little direct supervision, this employee matches product with customer orders and prepares product for delivery. Prepares required bills of lading and ensures all orders are complete and accurate.

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurately matches product to be shipped with customer order and verifies order for accuracy.
  • Prepares orders for shipment (boxing/skids) ensuring product will not be damaged during transportation.
  • Notifies Supervisor of any discrepancies with customer orders and/or orders that cannot/will not ship.
  • Uses overhead crane, tow motor and/or hand truck to load product on vehicles for shipment.
  • Weighs all outgoing materials and determines the most economical method to ship.
  • Prepare and maintain records of shipments and receipts as required to provide tracking and traceability.
  • Ability to work overtime as required, which can be frequent during busy times.
  • Keep work area orderly, clean, and safe.
  • Must exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • A minimum of two years of shipping experience preferred.
  • UPS software experience desired.
  • Must be able to safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment; stand up and sit down forklift experience preferred.
  • RF Scanner experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.


  • Ability to stand 7+ hours per day.

  • Ability to walk 7+ hours per day.


  • Routine stopping, squatting, and bending.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Conduct all interaction with customers, representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous, and respectful manner.
