AV Technician - Level 1
Position Summary
The Temporary Audiovisual (AV) Technician I supports the successful installation of audiovisual and integrated technology systems across a variety of commercial environments. This is a temporary, project-based position working under the direction of experienced technicians, Foremen, and Project Managers to assist with equipment installation, cable pulling, system assembly, and other field installation activities while learning industry best practices and installation standards.
This role plays an important part in the successful execution of AV integration projects by supporting project teams, maintaining safe and organized job sites, and ensuring quality workmanship throughout each installation. The AV Technician I will gain hands-on experience working with commercial audiovisual systems while developing technical expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction or AV/IT experience who is looking to expand their field experience, contribute to a variety of commercial AV projects, and build technical skills within the audiovisual integration industry.

What You'll Do
- Assist with the installation of audiovisual and integrated technology systems.
- Complete equipment installations, cable pulls, and system assembly as directed.
- Install and mount AV equipment including displays, projectors, speakers, and projection screens.
- Read and interpret project documentation, work orders, drawings, and installation specifications.
- Report daily job progress, issues, and scope changes to the Foreman or Project Manager.
- Support the protection and security of equipment and materials throughout the installation process.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas on active job sites.
- Protect customer facilities and interior finishes during installation activities.
- Assist with project closeout by organizing equipment manuals and unused installation materials.
- Work with project leadership to ensure installations meet project plans and quality standards.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Attend required safety meetings, coordination meetings, and technical training sessions.
- Maintain required certifications and state licensing as applicable.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work under direct supervision in a team-oriented environment.
- Valid state installation license and/or certification as required by state law.
- Ability to obtain a Powder Actuated Tool Certification.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows.
- Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, lifts, hoists, and other construction equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, stand, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to work in a variety of indoor construction and customer environments.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible schedules, including occasional overnight travel, evenings, or weekends based on project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience installing commercial AV or IT systems.
- Working knowledge of audiovisual installation tools and construction practices.
- Experience mounting displays, speakers, projectors, or similar AV equipment.
- Familiarity with commercial construction job sites and safety practices.
