Computer Operator III

Job Summary
The Computer Operator monitors and operates the control console of either a mainframe digital computer or a group of minicomputers, in accordance with operating instructions, to process data. Utilizes the Building Automation Systems to ensure proper operation of facility systems related to the energy management systems. Performs work in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Successfully complete education and training when directed by the CMM.
  • Assists in monitoring the Building Automation System s 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Prior to manning the BAS, independently demonstrate proficiency in monitoring the BAS as detailed in SOP.
  • Assist with all communication facilities to include; emergency radio communications, two-way radios, e-mails, office phones and work order requests.
  • Acknowledge and document weekly Emergency Eyewash and Safety Showers Alarm testing
  • Operate the BAS IAW published Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Provide highly detailed shift log documentation and notes
  • Review and record animal room temperatures and humidity readings bi- hourly, log/report any deficiencies
  • Maintain hourly rotating walking tours of buildings as specified by the contract and log/report any deficiencies
  • Maintain Suite Pressure logs and log/report any deficiencies
  • Maintain drain fluid levels weekly in the 1412/1425 penthouse and basement.
  • Maintain weekly HEPA filter housing DP logs and log/report and deficiencies.
  • Make requested adjustments to animal room temperature set points and alarms
  • Update Freezer Call list
  • Respond to alarms and equipment failures as detailed in the alarm message to include; contacting the end user/ POCs, on call duty personal, security office, 911 operator or FMO supervisors for additional guidance.
  • Respond to facilities emergencies (ex. bomb threats, fire alarms, system failures, water issues) as detailed in the Facilities Emergency flip book
  • Follow all policies and regulations pertaining to building security, BAS passwords and system protection
  • Maintain mandatory/assigned training requirements. Certificates to remain in individual training record
  • Maintain GLP training upon implementation
  • Follow all related published SOP's including but not limited to reporting data and change control procedures
  • Update resumes annually
  • Relocate refrigeration equipment during after hour failures.
  • Respond to alarms generated from Good Laboratory Practice(GLP)/Regulated areas IAW published standard operating procedures
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months
  • to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to pass government-mandated background checks and drug screenings.
