Controller
We are looking for an experienced Controller to provide strategic financial leadership for a growing construction company in Springdale, Arkansas. This role offers broad visibility across accounting, treasury, reporting, and operational support, with close collaboration alongside executive and project leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong command of cash management, financial analysis, and process development in a fast-moving environment where accurate project financial insight is essential.
Responsibilities:
• Direct the daily activities of the accounting function, providing leadership, coaching, and structure to ensure accurate and timely execution of core financial operations.
• Oversee liquidity management by tracking cash activity, supervising payment cycles, reviewing receivables trends, and maintaining short-term and long-range cash forecasts.
• Prepare and deliver monthly financial packages that include income statements, balance sheets, cash flow reporting, project performance metrics, and other analyses for leadership and external stakeholders.
• Partner with operations and executive teams to support billing projections, evaluate project financial performance, and provide reporting that informs business decisions.
• Lead the annual budgeting process across multiple business units, while contributing to capital planning, workforce planning, and payroll-related forecasting.
• Support bid development by supplying financial data, modeling scenarios, and assessing the potential financial impact of project assumptions and outcomes.
• Manage audit coordination, financial reviews, and oversight of commercial insurance and employee benefit programs to maintain compliance and organizational protection.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows, strengthen controls, and build processes that support efficiency, accuracy, and growth.
• Maintain productive relationships with banks, insurers, vendors, subcontractors, and other external partners critical to the company’s financial operations.
• Contribute to oversight of business technology investments by reviewing financial implications of hardware and software purchases when needed.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience serving as a Controller or in a senior accounting or finance leadership capacity.• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow oversight, and operational financial analysis.
• Background in construction or another project-driven environment such as contracting, engineering, manufacturing, field services, or real estate development is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of job costing, project profitability analysis, and billing and collections processes.
• Experience coordinating audits and managing banking, insurance, or external financial partner relationships.
• Ability to work effectively in a growing, hands-on organization with multiple priorities and evolving processes.
• Experience supporting more than one entity or business unit is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Sage, Procore, or similar financial and project management platforms is highly valued.
Compensation
