Commercial Insurance Account Manager
Responsibilities:
• Guide commercial clients through new and renewal policies by reviewing coverage details, explaining available options, and helping them make informed insurance decisions.
• Provide day-to-day account service by handling endorsements, policy updates, binders, certificates of insurance, and other coverage-related documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Support clients during the claims process by recording first notices of loss, outlining next steps, and serving as a reliable point of contact throughout claim activity.
• Develop productive relationships with carriers and underwriting partners to place business effectively and align submissions with market guidelines and appetite.
• Prepare applications, supplemental forms, and supporting materials needed to secure quotations, bind coverage, and issue policies.
• Assist with renewal planning by analyzing exposures, comparing terms, identifying changes in limits or pricing, and presenting suitable options to clients.
• Seek opportunities to strengthen accounts through cross-selling, account rounding, and tailored insurance program recommendations based on client operations and risk profiles.
• Manage surplus lines activity, including documentation, invoicing, affidavits, and compliance-related tasks, while maintaining complete and organized account records.
• Coordinate premium payment arrangements and financing options as needed, and contribute to broader agency initiatives or special projects that support business growth.
• Monitor industry developments, carrier offerings, and coverage trends to provide informed recommendations and maintain a high standard of client service.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial lines account management or a closely related insurance role.
• Active Massachusetts Property and Casualty Insurance License is required.
• Working knowledge of commercial insurance products, including property and casualty coverage.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and agency management platforms such as AMS360 or Applied Epic.
Compensation
