Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a growing team in Charleston, South Carolina. This contract-to-permanent position offers a flexible part-time schedule of approximately 25 to 30 hours per week and is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing core accounting activities independently. The role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payables and receivables, and using QuickBooks Online to keep daily transactions organized and up to date.

Responsibilities:
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online.
• Process vendor invoices, track outgoing payments, and keep accounts payable records current.
• Monitor incoming payments, apply customer receipts, and follow up on outstanding balances as part of accounts receivable support.
• Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure transactions are recorded correctly and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Review financial entries for accuracy and consistency, making corrections when needed to support reliable reporting.
• Organize accounting documentation and maintain orderly records for easy reference and audit readiness.
• Collaborate with internal team members to support accounting operations for an HVAC-related business environment.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in bookkeeping with hands-on responsibility for daily accounting functions.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and confidence working within cloud-based accounting systems.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate and well-organized financial records.
• Ability to manage part-time responsibilities independently while meeting deadlines consistently.
• Effective communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to working with team members and vendors.
• Experience supporting bookkeeping functions in an HVAC or similar service-based industry is preferred.

Compensation

$21.85-$25.30 Hourly
