Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a distribution and service organization in the Triad. This role contributes to the accuracy of financial records through routine reconciliations, transactional accounting, and assistance with period-end reporting. The ideal candidate brings solid accounting experience, strong spreadsheet skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple financial processes.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out day-to-day accounting tasks that support accurate financial reporting and efficient close activities.
• Review cash activity across site locations and perform audits to verify completeness and accuracy.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Process vendor invoices and related accounts payable activities while maintaining proper documentation and controls.
• Support inventory balancing efforts by comparing records, investigating variances, and assisting with adjustments when needed.
• Maintain general ledger accounts by preparing entries, reviewing balances, and assisting with account analysis.
• Contribute to month-end and year-end reporting by compiling financial data and preparing supporting schedules.
• Assist with audit readiness by organizing requested documentation and providing support to external auditors.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or closely related role.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity.
• Working knowledge of month-end close processes and financial account analysis.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of pivot tables, lookup functions, and formulas.
• Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Pro, SAP, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with inventory reconciliation and variance review is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy
Compensation
