Grant Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage post-award financial activities for sponsored projects, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with institutional and sponsor requirements.
• Prepare and submit sponsor billings and federal drawdowns while monitoring award balances and cash activity.
• Complete monthly and quarterly close processes related to grant accounts, including reconciliations and financial review.
• Establish awards and sponsor records in Workday, confirming data is entered correctly and aligns with approved funding documentation.
• Produce effort, interagency, and other required financial reports within established deadlines.
• Review grant expenditures for allowability, allocability, and compliance with Uniform Guidance and sponsor regulations.
• Coordinate award closeout activities, resolve outstanding financial items, and support timely final reporting.
• Maintain appropriate internal controls and segregation of duties throughout post-award administration.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in grant accounting, post-award administration, or sponsored funds management.• Hands-on proficiency with Workday is required.
• Knowledge of federal grant regulations, including Uniform Guidance, and sponsor compliance expectations.
• Experience handling sponsor invoicing, federal drawdowns, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with student financial aid funding processes is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial data and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet recurring deadlines, and communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Compensation
