Billing Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Review incoming bills, digitize documentation, and maintain organized records for processing and tracking.
• Process requested payments accurately and ensure supporting information is complete before submission.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and conduct timely follow-up to help resolve open billing matters.
• Communicate with office personnel and other relevant parties to clarify account details and address billing questions.
• Enter billing data into computerized systems with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Support collection activities by updating account statuses and helping maintain current billing statements.
• Interact professionally with patients, physicians, attorneys, and colleagues when discussing account or documentation needs.
• Contribute to additional administrative or billing-related tasks as assigned to support daily operations.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in billing, collections, or a related clerical support role.• Working knowledge of billing procedures, collection practices, and insurance-related guidelines.
• Proficiency with Windows, Outlook, Microsoft Office, and computerized billing applications.
• Strong data entry and typing skills, including a minimum typing speed of 50+ WPM.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across different groups.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with careful attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
Compensation
