Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst
Robert Half Management Resources is looking for a detail-oriented Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst to support one of our clients on an interim basis. This contract position will focus on analyzing, validating, and reconciling financial data tied to acquired entities, helping ensure accuracy across reporting and operational workflows. The role is ideal for someone who is comfortable working across finance and technology teams in a fast-moving environment and can bring structure to complex data challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Review and assess large financial datasets from acquired businesses to confirm completeness, accuracy, and alignment with company reporting standards.
• Compare information across multiple systems, investigate inconsistencies, and resolve data issues affecting customer, revenue, and cost-related records.
• Translate legacy data into organized formats that support integration activities, including mapping fields and confirming proper data relationships.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and IT stakeholders to support testing efforts, validate outputs, and improve confidence in integrated processes.
• Prepare targeted analyses and status reporting for leadership to monitor integration progress and maintain consistency in financial results.
• Use advanced Excel tools to organize, manipulate, and evaluate high-volume data efficiently.
• Support post-acquisition integration work by identifying risks, documenting findings, and helping drive issue resolution through completion.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles, including knowledge of revenue recognition and cost structures.
• Demonstrated experience with mergers and acquisitions, acquisition integration, or related financial data projects.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, complex formulas, and data transformation techniques.
• Ability to perform detailed data validation, reconciliation, and financial analysis with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience working independently in environments with evolving priorities and incomplete information.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams in a hybrid work setting.
Compensation
