Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a growing organization in West Palm Beach, Florida. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working across month-end activities, reporting, payables, and payroll in a dynamic, multi-location environment. The role offers a flexible three-day-per-week schedule with the potential for expanded hours based on business needs.

Responsibilities:
• Manage month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reviewing account activity, and helping maintain an accurate general ledger.
• Perform balance sheet and account reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and support reliable financial records.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports that help leadership monitor performance across multiple business locations.
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule while ensuring supporting records are complete and properly documented.
• Oversee accounts payable workflows, including invoice review, coding, and timely payment processing through designated systems.
• Assist with corporate tax and sales tax activities, including gathering data and supporting filings and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to accounting support for a multi-entity business structure, with attention to consistency and accuracy across entities.
• Use platforms such as Paycor, Bill.com, and Sage Intacct to complete daily accounting tasks and maintain organized financial information.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar position.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Working knowledge of payroll processing and accounts payable procedures.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and corporate tax return support.
• Experience in multi-entity accounting environments is strongly preferred.
• Background in construction or retail accounting is preferred.
• Proficiency with accounting and financial systems such as Paycor, Bill.com, and Sage Intacct.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities independently in a flexible work schedule.

Compensation

$26.60-$30.80 Hourly
