CFO - Chief Financial Officer

We are looking for an experienced fractional Chief Financial Officer to support a healthcare startup in the greater DC area on the remote basis. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a strategic finance leader who can strengthen financial planning, reporting, and operational decision-making in a growing environment. The role will guide core finance activities while helping establish scalable processes that support continued expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Lead companywide budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning to improve visibility into financial performance and funding needs.

• Prepare and present accurate financial reports that support leadership decisions and provide insight into business trends.

• Oversee month-end close activities to help ensure timely, organized, and reliable financial results.

• Advise on capital planning strategies and financial priorities aligned with the goals of a growing healthcare business.

• Provide guidance on multi-state and international tax matters, coordinating compliance needs and identifying potential risks.

• Assess finance-related workflows, people structures, and business systems to recommend improvements that increase efficiency and scalability.

• Partner with leadership to develop reporting frameworks, performance metrics, and financial models that support strategic initiatives.

• Contribute hands-on financial expertise across special projects tied to process improvement and broader finance operations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience serving in a CFO or senior financial leadership capacity, ideally within startup or high-growth organizations.
• Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis with the ability to translate data into business recommendations.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting and month-end close oversight.
• Knowledge of capital management and the financial needs of emerging companies.
• Experience handling multi-state tax requirements and international tax compliance considerations.
• Familiarity with evaluating or improving business systems, finance processes, and team structures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fractional, advisory, and hands-on leadership role within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Compensation

$87.09-$100.84 Hourly
