Paralegal
Our client, a highly regarded law firm, is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to support their fast-paced legal team in Boston, Massachusetts. This position focuses on commercial real estate matters for lender clients and offers the opportunity to contribute throughout the transaction and closing process. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple files while maintaining accuracy in time-sensitive legal work.
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: 5 days in office (on site)
Salary: $75,000 - $120,000 (depending on experience) + great benefits
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review commercial real estate transaction documents, including deeds, loan documentation, and closing-related materials.
- Coordinate and schedule real estate closings, ensuring all transaction requirements are satisfied in a timely manner.
- Monitor transaction timelines and maintain calendars to ensure critical deadlines are met.
- Obtain municipal lien certificates (MLCs), plot plans, zoning information, and corporate records from applicable government agencies and the Secretary of State.
- Order and review due diligence materials, including title reports, lien searches, and other third-party investigations.
- Communicate with tax collector and assessor offices to obtain parcel information, tax status details, and related records.
- Research title matters through title company databases and public land records, including retrieving title policies and recorded documents.
- Conduct construction title updates and title rundown searches.
- Prepare and file Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) financing statements and related filings.
- Resolve title defects and curative matters, including obtaining missing discharges, assignments, releases, and other corrective documentation from lenders and relevant parties.
- Prepare, review, and reconcile closing statements and settlement documentation.
- Assemble and maintain comprehensive closing binders and transaction files for commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions.
- Support post-closing activities, including monitoring document recordings, preparing title policies and endorsements, and administering final closing packages.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal in a law firm, title company, or corporate legal department.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, loan documentation, title examinations, and title insurance policies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent follow-through.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with attorneys, clients, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and maintain accuracy under pressure.
Compensation
