Senior Staff Accountant

A luxury hospitality management group overseeing multiple hotels and restaurants throughout Southern California is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its expanding corporate finance team. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a multi-entity environment, leading critical accounting functions, and mentoring junior team members. This highly visible role offers direct exposure to executive leadership while playing a key part in financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Corporate Accounting

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for multiple business entities
• Prepare complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Review financial statements and analyze operating results
• Assist with consolidations and intercompany transactions
• Support annual audits and tax preparation

Leadership & Process Improvement

• Mentor junior accounting staff and review work for accuracy
• Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls
• Partner with operations leaders to analyze financial performance
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
• Participate in ERP enhancements and accounting system implementations

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and financial consolidations
• Proficiency with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities
