Staff Accountant I

A rapidly expanding biotechnology company is looking for a Staff Accountant I to join its corporate accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation while working alongside experienced accounting leaders. The organization offers exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and process improvement initiatives within a highly collaborative environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys learning, asking questions, and taking ownership of their work while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

General Accounting

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
• Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, and balance sheet accounts
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records
• Support inventory accounting and cost allocations

Financial Reporting

• Assist with financial statement preparation
• Analyze account variances and investigate discrepancies
• Support annual audits and compliance reporting
• Maintain accounting documentation in accordance with company policies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1–3 years of accounting experience or recent public accounting internship
• Experience with NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions
• CPA track or desire to pursue CPA is a plus
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
