Document Preparation Specialist

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Document Preparation Specialist to support mortgage operations by managing loan document configuration, testing, compliance reviews, and system-related documentation processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring mortgage loan documents and disclosures are accurate, compliant, and properly configured within loan origination systems. The ideal candidate will have strong mortgage operations experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot document and workflow issues. Responsibilities

• Configure, test, and maintain mortgage loan documents and disclosures within loan origination systems.
• Ensure accurate data mapping, business rules, and document generation functionality.
• Review disclosure-related audit findings and assist with corrective action plans.
• Investigate and resolve document, workflow, and system-related issues.
• Perform system testing, quality assurance, and regression testing for updates and enhancements.
• Partner with compliance, operations, technology teams, and third-party vendors to support document integrity.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, testing results, procedures, and issue resolutions.
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting mortgage disclosures and loan documentation.
• Provide support for document-related inquiries and process improvement initiatives.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to track issues, testing results, and compliance activities.

Qualifications:

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in mortgage operations, document preparation, LOS administration, or mortgage technology support.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage disclosures and loan documentation, including TRID and RESPA regulations.
• Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS) such as Encompass, ICE Mortgage Technology, Calyx, or similar platforms.
• Experience working with document vendor platforms such as DocMagic, Docutech, IDS, or similar preferred.
• Proven experience with system testing, configuration, QA, or UAT processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of workflow configuration, business rules, and data mapping.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
