Product Manager
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead mortgage product strategy, underwriting initiatives, and operational improvements. This role partners with executive leadership to develop and enhance lending products, establish underwriting guidelines, and ensure compliance with regulatory and investor requirements. The ideal candidate is a mortgage industry expert with extensive underwriting experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for developing innovative lending solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of mortgage product offerings, including Non-QM loan programs.
- Create and maintain underwriting guidelines, product matrices, policies, procedures, and process documentation.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and industry changes to improve product performance and competitiveness.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies that align with business objectives and risk management standards.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for underwriting scenarios, guideline interpretation, and product recommendations.
- Deliver training and product updates to underwriting, production, closing, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to resolve complex loan scenarios and improve outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to underwriting staff and business partners.
- Ensure compliance with investor guidelines, agency requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requirements
- Minimum 6+ years of mortgage underwriting experience.
- At least 4+ years of government underwriting experience.
- Active DE (Direct Endorsement), SAR (Staff Appraisal Reviewer), and LAPP designations required.
- Proven experience underwriting Non-QM, Conventional, FHA, VA, RD, Jumbo, DPA, and complex self-employed income loans.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience developing policies, procedures, training materials, and product communications.
- Exceptional analytical, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
Compensation
