We are pleased to announce the opening for a Senior Technical Staff/Team Leader who will join our Engineering Services Team in Colorado Springs, CO and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for providing an independent operational assessment of the Missile Defense System’s capability to defend the United States, its deployed forces, friends, and allies against missiles of all ranges and in all phases of flight.


Responsibilities:

You’ll be providing test support to the Missile Defense System (MDS) Operational Test Agency (OTA) Team. As the independent operational assessment organization for the MDS, the OTA Team is actively involved in test, assessment, and analysis tasks that occur in cooperation with the Missile Defense Agency and Warfighter communities. MDS OTA Team members have a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of MDS testing, from initial concept and requirements development to detailed analysis and assessment reporting.


This position provides management oversight of the MDS OTA contractor team responsible for a wide range of technical tasks and cyber security related activities supporting the OTA mission. Specific duties include:

  • Serve as a Team Leader responsible for the coordination, planning, and operational execution of test activities across Joint (strategic and operational) Missile Defense Systems (MDS) that are geographically dispersed across Combatant Commands.
  • Drive project management activities to support the development and delivery of Missile Defense Systems (MDS) tests, providing collaborative integration across multiple iterations of test objectives, participating agencies, and available resources.
  • Assess complex systems through synthesis of analytical results and expert judgment, review technical documentation conduct analytical studies, and prepare technical reports/briefings.
  • Review technical guidance and execution support, shape cyber survivability assessment reports and briefings that highlight cyber posture, and potential impact on MDS mission effectiveness.
  • Project and manage resources to optimize the cyber team’s capacity to deliver timely results.
  • Support business development activities for nSI.


Basic Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering, mathematics, physical sciences, or computer science, or significant expertise (20+ years) in missile defense systems in lieu of degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a technical field related to missile defense and/or technical analysis of a complex weapon system.
  • Must be eligible to obtain or have an active SECRET clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and be proficient with MS Office automation tools.
  • Must be able to work at our customer site in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior practical experience in the management, planning, execution, and assessment of a Missile Defense System Flight Test, Ground Test Integrated (GTI), or Ground Test Distributed (GTD).
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) integrated test philosophy, test regulations, and coordinated test and evaluation programs.
  • Experience with operational testing and assessment of effectiveness, suitability, and survivability of a weapon system.
  • Prior experience analyzing one or more MDS elements or components including radar systems, weapon systems, missiles, communications systems, Battle Management, Command & Control, Communication (BMC3), and Infrared (IR) sensors.
  • Experience in space operations and space systems architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team, setting goals, identifying and prioritizing work leading to overall mission accomplishment.
  • Strong strategic communication skills for documenting and relaying findings to customers.
  • Demonstrated experience in building winning teams to drive process improvement and deliver results.
