Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part Time (one day per week) Accounts Payable Clerk to support a non-profit organization in New York, New York on a part-time Contract basis. This role focuses on accurate invoice entry, document review, and general clerical assistance to help maintain smooth payment processing. The position is scheduled for one day each week, with Wednesday or Thursday preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Process a weekly volume of invoices with careful attention to accuracy and completeness.

• Review submitted invoices to confirm the necessary approvals are in place before entry.

• Record invoice details in the appropriate system and organize related documentation.

• Assist with clerical follow-up and basic research to resolve invoice questions or missing information.

• Support accounts payable activities by maintaining orderly records for reference and audit readiness.

• Coordinate work within a one-day-per-week schedule, ideally on Wednesday or Thursday.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting accounts payable functions in an administrative or clerical capacity.
• Ability to enter and code invoices accurately while managing routine processing tasks.
• Familiarity with invoice verification procedures and approval review before payment entry.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable practices, including invoice processing and check run support.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle repetitive tasks with consistency.
• Clear organizational skills and the ability to research and resolve basic invoice-related issues.

Compensation

$24.00-$29.00 Hourly
