Assistant Controller
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support accounting operations and financial reporting for a growing industrial organization. This position plays a key role in overseeing core accounting functions, cost analysis, compliance, financial planning, and operational reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, manufacturing industry experience, and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related functions.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, product costing, and variance analysis.
- Partner with operational leaders to analyze labor, materials, and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning initiatives.
- Coordinate external audit requests and assist with audit preparation and compliance activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Mentor and support accounting staff while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 to 3 years within a manufacturing environment.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with cost accounting concepts, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.
• Proficiency with ERP platforms such as Plex, Oracle, or comparable systems; Plex experience is especially valuable.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to communicate effectively in English.Qualifications

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

- Proficiency with ERP systems and integrated business software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Background
- Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or product-based industry experience.
- Experience driving process improvements and strengthening internal controls.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to support business objectives.

Compensation
