Tax Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Accountant to support corporate tax compliance and reporting activities. This role is responsible for preparing and filing a variety of tax returns, reviewing transactions for proper tax treatment, assisting with tax research, and helping maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of multistate tax requirements, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to resolve tax-related questions and issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Complete and file sales and use, income, and property tax returns across multiple U.S. jurisdictions.
- Review financial and operational transactions to determine appropriate tax treatment.
- Research tax rules and interpret changing regulations to support compliance efforts.
- Respond to notices, inquiries, and other correspondence from tax authorities.
- Reconcile tax accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items.
- Provide internal support to business partners regarding tax questions and day-to-day compliance matters.
- Assist with audits and help gather documentation requested by taxing jurisdictions.
- Contribute to process improvements, training, and team initiatives that strengthen technical capabilities and service levels.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in tax, accounting, or a closely related corporate tax environment.
- Degree in accounting, taxation, data analytics, or a related field; comparable practical experience may also be considered.
- Working knowledge of corporate income tax, sales and use tax, and property tax compliance responsibilities.
- Exposure to multistate sales and use tax compliance.
- Experience with income tax and franchise tax processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to organize, analyze, and validate detailed financial or tax data.
- High level of accuracy, sound judgment, and attention to detail in preparing work products.
- Ability to build effective partnerships with colleagues and communicate clearly across teams.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, OneSource RS Express, OneSource Determination, Microsoft D365, Power BI, or similar platforms is preferred.
Compensation
