Am Law Firm Seeks Employment Litigation Attorney for Growing Practice


About Firm & Position:

A financially stable Am Law 200 firm is adding multiple newly created Employment Litigation Attorney positions following an influx of work from new clients. This established employment defense group represents mid-cap and Fortune 500 companies in sophisticated single-plaintiff litigation. The Employment Litigation Attorney will receive hands-on mentorship, direct involvement in case strategy, and opportunities to develop independent client relationships. The firm maintains a collaborative culture centered on professional respect, reasonable workloads, flexibility, and long-term attorney retention.


This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week onsite.


Employment Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:

· Defend employers against claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and breaches of employment contracts and agreements.

· Manage single-plaintiff employment litigation matters from inception through resolution. This team does not handle PAGA matters.

· Draft pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions, and other substantive litigation documents.

· Take and defend depositions, attend court appearances, and participate in mediation and trial preparation.

· Handle matters in Northern, Central, and Southern California state courts and federal district courts within the Ninth Circuit.

· Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, strategy, risk, and recommended next steps.

· Collaborate with partners on litigation strategy while developing the independence necessary to manage matters effectively.

· Participate in marketing and business-development initiatives, with certain qualifying activities credited toward the annual hours requirement.


Hours:

1,850 annual hours for associates. Senior Counsel positions have an 1,800-hour annual requirement.
