SOX Manager

Edinburg, VA 22824, US Remote Temporary
Compensation: $52.25 to $60.50 Hourly

We are looking for an experienced SOX Manager to lead a long-term contract engagement supporting internal control compliance in Edinburg, Virginia. This role will oversee the planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the SOX program while partnering with business leaders, IT teams, and auditors. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, control testing, internal audit practices, and ITGC environments, along with the ability to strengthen documentation, compliance monitoring, and reporting.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the annual risk-based review of internal controls and define the SOX program scope in collaboration with leadership and external audit partners.
• Advise control owners on how to establish, execute, and maintain effective controls across financial and operational processes.
• Review existing control activities with stakeholders to identify process changes, emerging risks, and areas requiring new or revised controls.
• Track control issues from identification through resolution, determine their severity, and coordinate corrective action plans with relevant teams and auditors.
• Manage the Workiva platform as the primary subject matter expert, promote effective use of its capabilities, and train team members on best practices and new functionality.
• Introduce process improvements and technology-driven solutions, including AI-enabled approaches, to enhance SOX documentation, testing, and ongoing monitoring.
• Develop clear and complete records for controls, policies, procedures, and process flows to support compliance and audit readiness.
• Partner with IT, internal audit, and external auditors to support testing activities, facilitate audit requests, and maintain adherence to SOX requirements.
• Serve as the key resource for Oracle Risk Management module testing, helping ensure uninterrupted operation of SOX-related and access controls within Oracle and supply chain processes.
• Prepare and deliver regular updates to management and audit stakeholders on control performance, compliance status, and remediation progress.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience managing Sarbanes-Oxley compliance programs, including risk assessment, control evaluation, and remediation oversight.
• Strong background in control testing, internal audit, internal controls, and IT general controls.
• Ability to work effectively with senior leadership, control owners, IT teams, and external auditors in a cross-functional environment.
• Experience with Workiva or similar compliance management platforms, including documentation and reporting administration.
• Familiarity with Oracle Risk Management and related access control processes is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated skill in creating detailed policies, procedures, process narratives, and control documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to present compliance updates clearly to stakeholders.

Compensation

$52.25-$60.50 Hourly
