Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support a busy manufacturing team in Dallas, Texas. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, dependable, and comfortable managing invoice and payment activity in a fast-moving environment. The person in this role will help keep vendor payments accurate, timely, and aligned with internal financial standards while working closely with internal partners and external suppliers.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and efficiently while confirming proper approval, account coding, and policy compliance.
• Compare purchase orders, receipts, and billing documents to validate charges before payment is released.
• Investigate and resolve invoice mismatches or payment issues by coordinating with purchasing, receiving, and other internal teams.
• Prepare scheduled vendor payments through checks, ACH, and wire transactions, and enter payment details into the accounting system.
• Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable records to identify outstanding items and ensure balances are correct.
• Maintain organized payment files and supporting documentation for audit readiness, record retention, and compliance purposes.
• Support month-end close activities by reviewing payable activity, reconciling transactions, and assisting with reporting needs.
• Contribute to tax and compliance tasks, including support for 1099 preparation and monitoring adherence to internal controls.
• Track accounts payable metrics such as open invoices and aging balances, and help identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency.

Qualifications:

• At least 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a comparable finance support role.

• Working knowledge of core accounts payable practices, including invoice coding, payment processing, and account reconciliation.

• Experience handling check runs and electronic payments such as ACH with strong attention to accuracy.

• Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and solid Microsoft Excel skills.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with vendors and cross-functional internal teams.

• Proven ability to manage a high volume of transactions in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining reliability and a positive attitude.

• Manufacturing industry experience is preferred, especially familiarity with inventory-related invoices and vouching-style payment processes.

Compensation

$31.97-$35.00 Hourly
