Litigation Assistant (5+ years)

A firm with 12+ attorneys in downtown San Diego is seeking a new litigation assistant for their growing team. This role is open due to an influx of work.

Responsibilities:

·      Support 3-4 attorneys in defense-side litigation

o  Manage litigation calendars and pleading deadlines via Law Toolbox

o  Complete 5-10 filings per week (state and federal court) via Nationwide

o  Serve documents

o  Prepare, proofread and format shells/pleadings

o  Open new case files and upload case documents

o  Process invoices and obtain attorney approval on them

o  Process incoming mail, including scanning and routing documents appropriately

Qualifications:

Requirements:

1.      Minimum 5+ years of civil litigation experience (ideally on the defense side)

a.      Must know CA civil codes + procedures well enough to know steps to eFile motions, calendar litigation deadlines, serve documents, and receive discovery

         i.     Ability to take initiative, know what needs to come next in a case

2.      Stability on resume.

3.      Ability to commute to downtown San Diego daily.

Pay is commensurate with the requirements above.
