Staff Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of general ledger activity.
• Perform month-end close tasks, including account analysis and timely completion of financial reporting support.
• Reconcile bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset balances to ensure complete and accurate records.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and provide full-cycle accounting support across payroll, payables, and other routine functions.
• Contribute to audit preparation by organizing documentation and supporting compliance efforts for regulated and specialized engagements.
• Prepare and file a high volume of tax returns, including corporate filings and work related to pass-through entities such as S-Corporations.
• Support accounting needs across diverse business sectors by adapting to varying reporting requirements and operational priorities.
• Step into both staff-level and more advanced accounting assignments as needed to help maintain continuity within the finance function.
Qualifications:
• Detail-oriented experience in staff accounting with hands-on responsibility for journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.• Strong working knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial statement support.
• Experience preparing or supporting sales tax and corporate tax return processes.
• Ability to manage account reconciliations across cash, payables, receivables, and fixed assets with a high degree of accuracy.
• Familiarity with audit support and compliance documentation in complex or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to handle multiple accounting priorities independently while meeting deadlines.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work successfully across different functional accounting areas.
