Financial Aid - Advisor
Responsibilities:
• Review financial aid applications and supporting records to assess student eligibility for federal, state, and institutional funding programs.
• Examine submitted documentation for accuracy and consistency by comparing student information with required forms, social security records, and other verification sources.
• Determine initial and ongoing aid eligibility, then notify students of decisions, updates, and any actions needed to maintain funding.
• Prepare and package financial aid awards using established need analysis methods and applicable Title IV, state, and institutional guidelines.
• Post and adjust loan amounts on student accounts while ensuring awards are processed accurately and on time.
• Investigate and resolve financial aid issues such as overpayments, concurrent enrollment concerns, Return of Title IV calculations, and academic progress-related matters.
• Maintain complete and accurate financial aid files to support compliance requirements and audit readiness.
• Provide clear guidance to students regarding application requirements, documentation needs, and funding status throughout the aid process.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with financial aid processing, student records, enrollment services, or a related administrative function.• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, including Title IV eligibility and award administration principles.
• Ability to review detailed documents, identify discrepancies, and make accurate eligibility determinations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general office software for tracking, reporting, and record maintenance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial aid information clearly to students.
• Effective organizational skills and attention to detail in a high-volume processing environment.
• Ability to handle confidential student information with discretion and professionalism.
Compensation
