Bookkeeper
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a wholesale meat business in Brooklyn, New York. This position is ideal for someone with strong QuickBooks knowledge and hands-on experience managing billing, reconciliations, and inventory-related accounting. The successful candidate will help maintain accurate records, support cash flow tracking, and contribute to reliable financial reporting in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records by processing daily bookkeeping transactions in QuickBooks.
• Prepare customer invoices, record incoming payments, and follow through on outstanding balances to support timely collections.
• Review and process vendor bills, schedule payments, and keep accounts payable records current and organized.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly to ensure balances are accurate and discrepancies are resolved quickly.
• Track inventory-related accounting activity, including product movement and cost updates, for a wholesale operation.
• Assist with monitoring stock values and financial data tied to inventory to support accurate reporting.
• Generate routine financial reports and provide bookkeeping support that helps management review business performance.
• Collaborate with internal team members to maintain orderly documentation and improve the accuracy of accounting workflows.
Qualifications:
• At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience in a business environment.
• Practical proficiency with QuickBooks and confidence handling day-to-day accounting entries.
• Experience managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Strong bank reconciliation skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
• Background in inventory accounting, preferably within a wholesale or product-based business.
• Ability to manage billing tasks efficiently while maintaining organized financial records.
• Spanish speaking is a huge plus
Compensation
